An Amateur Author's Odyssey to Recognition

A Reading and Some Updates.

A little story for the holiday.

I’ve gotten quite a few ideas for holiday-appropriate stories, which is something I’ve often hoped for. As such, my plans were put on slight hold, but I hope to get back on track now.

Nearly done with the novel, I think. Not as long as I’d hoped, but this is the first draft. So we shall see.

Also, this just came out. You should buy a copy. I have something in there.

Rejection Section

About seven months ago I sent of a story for Enchanted Conversation’s “Krampus” anthology. And at long last I opened my email to find….a rejection.

The best kind, too. The kind that starts with “Thank you for your story.” That alone is the only thing you need to see to tell you that you haven’t made the cut. Honestly these don’t depress me so much anymore. Writing is very much a hit-and-miss game. Sooner or later you get more wins than losses. I’m a firm believer in that.

I’ve just written my first assignment for Play Writing: a short play I call “The Snowflake Collector.” No idea what I’m gonna do with it. We’ll see how its received in class.
